The mystery of the old tenement

On the corner of one of the streets stands an unremarkable pre-war building. Although it looks similar to other buildings of the period, every resident of the city has heard chilling stories about it. Rumor has it that one day all the tenants disappeared. They simply vanished into thin air, and news of them disappeared. Some people tell themselves that simply no one ever lived there. Others say it's scary to walk past at night... Apparently, sometimes the lights in the basement come on. You can also hear quiet crying coming from inside. Or the sound of feet walking on old boards....
